Focusing on creating movement throughout this piece, the strokes of each letter are positioned to appear as though they flow into one another. Each section is a masked 5” by 5” box holding a letter as the figure and a different letter as the ground, one black and one white. By spelling the word typography both ways, this design is intended to push a visual push and pull to the eyes. Each letterform’s x-height is intentionally enlarged to create a strong figure ground relationship throughout the entire piece.
